Our Philosophy
Lakshmi Yoga Services (LYS) was founded to make classical yoga practice accessible, safe, and highly professional for modern practitioners. We approach yoga not just as an exercise, but as a systematic methodology for balancing physical health, nervous system vitality, and mental clarity. We emphasize mindful alignment, anatomical safety, and the synchronization of breath with movement.
At Lakshmi Yoga Services, we believe that yoga should adapt to the practitioner, not the practitioner to the yoga. We maintain strict safety guidelines to ensure that all levels can practice comfortably without fear of strain or injury. Every class integrates structural alignment cues, breathing modifications, and options for progress or regression.

What is Hata Yoga?
Hata Yoga is the foundational science of balancing the active ('Ha' - Sun) and receptive ('Tha' - Moon) energies of the body. Through carefully designed sequences of postures (Asanas) and breathing exercises (Pranayama), Hata yoga prepares the body and mind for deeper meditation and daily tranquility.
Core Principles of Hata Yoga
Hata is composed of two primary syllables: "Ha" meaning sun (representing active, warm, analytical, and physical energy) and "Tha" meaning moon (representing receptive, cool, intuitive, and quiet energy). When we practice Hata yoga, we harmonize these two polar forces within our bodies.
This is accomplished through three main pillars:
- Asana (Postures): Physical exercises held with steady control to build joint strength, spine alignment, and organ vitality.
- Pranayama (Breathwork): Rhythmic breathing techniques to balance neural activity, calm the autonomic nervous system, and expand lung volume.
- Dhyana (Meditation & Relaxation): Mindful focus and integration that consolidates the benefits of the physical and breathing practice, leading to emotional calmness.
